Through an agreement reached on Jan. 31, 2024 between St. Pius X and the JCARC, high school students can now explore the world of amateur radio, right on campus.
Club President Alvaro-KFØLZM and Club Sponsor/JCARC Vice-President Ray-KEØYXX lead weekly meetings each Monday during the school’s lunch hour. Through the generosity of JCARC members including Paul- WØIFP, Ray KEØYXX and Howard-WØJET who donated equipment for the club station, the club radio station is now operational on VHF and HF bands.
Each meeting contains information and guidance on three important topics:
Activities include holding a brief “Talk to the Students Roundtable” during meetings, students talking to local hams. Student-to-student license study groups as well as many other exciting programs and activites are planned for the near future.
St Pius students who are not yet members are encouraged to drop by on Mondays at lunch.
